Hugo Mayer, born 1968 in Tübingen, Germany. Studies of painting, class of Markus Lüpertz. Diploma Thesis 1997, HFBK Hamburg, class of Matthias Lehnhardt and Kurd Alsleben. Started off with painting, then crossed over to digital media (PhD in Computer Science, 2007). Since 2011 painting again. Mostly large size, colorful imagery, reflecting on various symptoms of the deficiencies in contemporary society. Hugo Mayer lives and works in Berlin.
